Our Domes come in three sizes and are all fully heated and well appointed for comfortable year round stays. Each dome includes a queen size bed, a private washroom, and a full shower. You will also find a coffee maker, a TV, and a small selection of games for relaxed time indoors. Every dome opens onto its own private deck, offering space to sit outside and enjoy the setting. Whether you choose a smaller dome or a larger one with more room, each space is designed to feel easy, practical, and comfortable without feeling fussy.

Unleash Your Adventurous Spirit
Adventure here starts the moment you step off the deck. Our property is located in the Greater Toronto Area, in the town of Uxbridge, officially known as the Trail Capital of Canada. The area is home to more than 300 kilometres of trails, including sections of the Trans Canada Trail, along with local routes that wind through forests, wetlands, and historic countryside. These trails are ideal for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding, offering an easy way to explore the landscape and experience the quiet rural character that makes this area so special.
Relaxation
Rejuvenate Amidst Nature
Relaxation comes easily here. The property is peaceful and quiet, with wide open space and fresh country air all around you. Guests can unwind in the hot tub or sauna, take slow walks along the trails, or simply sit on the deck and do very little at all. Massages can be booked right in your dome, allowing you to fully settle in without having to go anywhere.

Just minutes away in Uxbridge and Port Perry, you will find excellent restaurants, cozy coffee shops, ice cream shops, and the charming old style Roxy Theatre. The Blue Heron Casino offers gaming and live entertainment, while the Port Perry Marina makes it easy to rent a boat and spend time on the water. Nearby lavender and strawberry farms, along with other small local stops, make it easy to explore the area at your own pace without ever feeling rushed.
Dogs at Camp
Dogs have their own camp
Dogs at Camp is located on the same 100 acre property, making it easy for guests to enjoy time away while knowing their dogs are having a great experience of their own. Guests can walk their dogs on the trails during the day, spend time together on the property, and then have their dog return to Dogs at Camp to play, rest, and sleep overnight. This gives you the freedom to head out for dinner, explore the area, or simply relax in your dome, knowing your dog is nearby, well cared for, and having just as much fun as you are. Our Story
Open Acres Country Escape was created for people looking for a true country getaway, close enough to Toronto to be easy, yet far enough to feel like a real break. Set on 100 acres in Uxbridge, it is a place to slow down, explore the trails, and enjoy open space and fresh air. The domes were designed to sit quietly within the landscape, offering comfort without taking away from the feeling of being immersed in the land.
Long before the domes were here, this property became home to Dogs at Camp, which opened in 2002 on the same 100 acres. From the beginning, the focus was simple. Give dogs space, structure, care, and a place that feels calm and natural. Over the years, the camp has grown into a well loved part of the property, shaped by the land itself and by people who value time outdoors and a slower pace. Together, both experiences reflect the same idea. A place where people and dogs can step away from the rush and enjoy time in the country.
